Giles has had many childrens books published. The first, Rumble in the Jungle, was an instant hit and has been followed by several bestselling sequels, including Commotion in the Ocean and Dinosaurs Galore. The Lion Who Wanted to Love won the Red House Best Picture Book Award in 1998, as did Pants in 2003. Recently, Giles has collaborated with multi award-winning illustrator Russell Ayto to produce the Captain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs series of picture books, but it is probably for the international bestseller Giraffes Cant Dance that Giles is best known. This title has recently been adapted into a stage musical by The Blunderbus Theatre Company and is currently on a national tour. Giless childrens books have, to date, sold around 3 million copies, making him one of the most successful picture book authors working today. Giles Andreae is also the creator of Purple Ronnie and The Interesting Thoughts of Edward Monkton, both iconic and bestselling ranges of greetings cards and books.
